Director of Special Education

Sallisaw Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified and student-centered professional to serve as Director of Special Education. The Director will provide leadership, oversight, and support for the district's special education programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while promoting positive educational outcomes for students with disabilities.

 

Qualifications:

• Valid Oklahoma administrator certification.
• Master's degree in education, special education, educational leadership, or related field.
• Experience in special education and educational leadership preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, Oklahoma Special Education policies, Edplan, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee district special education services and programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state special education regulations.
• Support principals, teachers, and staff in implementing quality special education services.
• Coordinate evaluations, IEP processes, and required reporting.
• Manage special education budgets, grants, and program resources.
• Facilitate professional development and collaboration among staff and families.
